The Gupteswar Forest covers 350 hectares of demarcated area and holds immense significance due to its sacred groves, flora and fauna diversity including medicinal plants. It was recognised by the Government of Odisha and declared as the Fourth Biodiversity Heritage Site (BHS) of Odisha on February 9.

MSSRF – BPTAbC at Jeypore, has been involved in this endeavour since the beginning and held various activities from village-level meetings with the local populations to conducting surveys and organising capacity building training as well as forming committees. This remarkable declaration marks a significant milestone and underscores the collective efforts towards preserving and promoting biodiversity in the region.
