In line with the spirit of International Coastal Cleanup Day celebrated worldwide on September 15, M S Swaminathan Research Foundation’s Fish For All Research and Training Centre celebrated the movement by mobilising volunteer groups to pick up trash and recyclables along the coast of Poompuhar in Tamil Nadu.

M S Swaminathan Research Foundation, which has been collectivising farmers of the Illuppur Agriculture Producer Company Limted (IAPCL) in Illuppur of Pudukkottai district in Tamil Nadu, has facilitated a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between Tamil Nadu Small Farmers Agribusiness Consortium and IAPCL to set up a seed processing unit (SPU) under the National Agriculture Development programme (NADP).

How do rural working women in Tamil Nadu fare with regard to breastfeeding practices?

MSSRF signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on July 2, 2018 with the Directorate of Agriculture and Food Production (DoA& FP), Govt. of Odisha, Bhubaneswar, for the implementation of the Project “Strengthening Livelihoods and Enhancing Food and Nutrition Security of Small and Marginal Farmers in Koraput District of Odisha through a Farming System Model”.

M S Swaminathan Research Foundation received three research and development projects, of that Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) supported two projects namely “Alternative Seed System model” and “Integrated Farming System model” and another project supported by Department of Science and Technology, National Academy of Sciences (NASI) on sustainable livelihood enhancement through empowering tribal women in Koraput.

To increase the area under Kagga cultivation, technical guidance in the form of on-farm demonstration were provided to the Lukkeri – Manikatta farmers by MSSRF and University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad (UASD).
