Ms. Indu Gunasekar

Indu Gunasekar built her career in journalism, specialising at in-depth coverage of gender-related issues including stories on gender and labour, and issues surrounding menstruation. At present, she is a Senior Sub-editor with Hindu Tamil Thisai based in Chennai. Indu demonstrates a strong passion and commitment to gender issues through her work, and focuses on extending the boundaries of mainstream journalism. Her work has contributed to a more comprehensive understanding of gender issues, and has fostered meaningful dialogue as well as awareness among readers. In 2021, Indu received the Laadli Media Fellowship for her work in gender-related storytelling.
