MSSRF, Kishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) of Ganjam district, Odisha, and Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) had a joint stall at the zonal-level agriculture exhibition organised by the Department of Agriculture in Ganjam from January 13 to 17, 2023. The stall showcased various climate smart agriculture technologies piloted under the Resilience project funded by the Norwegian Embassy. The exhibition stall featured a Plant Clinic to demonstrate how the intervention works to benefit farmers, and also displayed products such as seeds, organic manure, bio-pesticides, trellis nets, millet seeds, value-added products, farm machinery, mushrooms, honey bees, and information about drip-irrigation methods.
Dibyajyoti Parida IAS – Ganjam District Collector, Chandra Sekhar Sahu – Member of Parliament, Bikram Kumar Panda – Member of Legislative Assembly Berhampur, government officials, teachers, and students visited the stall. Officials from KVK and MSSRF explained the various interventions of the Resilience project and demonstrated the Plant Clinic concept, solar light trap, yellow stick trap, and pheromone trap. The district collector appreciated the interventions and advised upscaling the intervention for the whole district with the support of the line departments and other stakeholders.
It was a good opportunity to showcase to officials and stakeholders how climate smart agriculture technologies are helping farmers improve agricultural productivity, adaptive capacity, and livelihoods of smallholders to climate and economic changes by building resilience.
